Social Anxiety Disorder. Also called: SAD.

So what is it? It’s a chronic mental health condition in which social interactions cause irrational anxiety. For people with social anxiety disorder, everyday social interactions cause irrational anxiety, fear, self-consciousness, and embarrassment.

Symptoms:

Symptoms may include excess fear of situations in which one may be judged, worry about embarrassment or humiliation, or concern about offending someone. It does require a medical diagnosis.

Treatment:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a newer form of psychotherapeutic practice. Although CBT cannot solve deeper issues and emotional trauma for some patients, it is considered to be an effective remedy for a long list of. This type of psychotherapy is generally short-term with a set number of sessions.
